On Thursday, June 8, 2023, Iași County School Inspectorate organized the Regional Conference “Digital Education – realities and perspectives” within the Erasmus+ project “Digitalization of Training Contents for Middle Schools” (Digitools) – 2020-1-TR01-KA226-SCH-098485. The event took place at the Palace of Culture in Iași.

The project is implemented from September 2020 to October 2023, and Iași County School Inspectorate participates together with partner institutions –  The Governorship Of Istanbul (TR), Center for Educational Initiatives (BG), Instituto Para El Fomento Del Desarrollo Y La Formacion SL (ES), InnoQuality Systems (IR), Advanced Technology Systems SRL (RO), Boğaziçi Universitesi (TR), Istanbul Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (TR), with the priority of developing European-wide digital educational material to promote pedagogical and educational quality and improve teachers’ digital teaching skills and competences.

The main objectives are to develop the digital teaching and mentoring skills of teachers who teach science, mathematics and English to middle school students, to develop the digital learning skills of middle school students on a platform that facilitates learning without time or space constraints, to support teachers, school leaders and policy makers in the digitization of education and to support parents on how to encourage their children at home in technology-assisted learning.

Results achieved:

IO1) My Digital Class: will present common learning outcomes, activities for science, maths and English lessons in partner countries in terms of digitising the content of instruction. It will also look at skills that are missing in the partner countries’ curriculum.

IO2) Assessment and Evaluation Compass: will present information content for the tools to be used and suggestions for creating digital assessment activities.

IO3) Teachers as Mentors Guidebook: aims to develop both digital mentoring and the skills to train pupils in digital education (coordinated by Iași County School Inspectorate).

IO4) White Book: Recommendations for capacity building in digital education for different target groups: teachers, parents, school leaders, policy makers.
