Governorship of İstanbul (GOI)

Governorship of İstanbul is in charge of regulating and supervising general administration in Istanbul. Governorship of Istanbul implements instructions and orders from ministries ensuring promulgation of government decisions and implementation of laws and regulations. GOI is the highest administrative authority in the city and serves in various fields with about 300 civil servants.

National and international projects are carried out by the European Union and Foreign Relations Office on behalf of the Istanbul Governorship. Priority is given to supporting disadvantageous groups such as people with disabilities, immigrants, women, NEETs and unemployed adults within the projects. In this context, GOI has cooperations with several public institutions, universities, training centers, vocational education centres, and NGOs for youth and adults.

İstanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education

Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education administrates 160,500 teachers and 2.922.000 students together with its 400 personnel who work in its central building. 39 districts of Istanbul which are located in the Asian and Eurupean side of the cith have their own administrators and units. The main responsibility of our institution is to carry out K-12 educational activities in Istanbul.

Boğaziçi University

Bogazici University is a leading state university in Turkey; with a 159 year history; and a strong tradition of international collaborations (http://www.boun.edu.tr). Founded in 1863 under the name of Robert College, being the first American college founded outside the borders of the US, it served as a leading international institution of higher learning in the region for more than a century and then transformed into a Turkish state university in 1971. Bogazici University has over 600 faculty members and over 300 research staff and assistants. Among these, 70 % of faculty members have received their Ph.D. degrees from internationally recognized prestigious academic institutions. Supported by a long tradition of academic excellence, the undergraduate programs admit students, who score in the top one percentile among 2.2 million high school graduates in the nation-wide centralized University Entrance Exam. The education language in all faculties and institutes is English at all levels, from undergraduate to PhD studies. Main tenets of Bogazici University’s vision are increasing its competitiveness in academic research and being among the best research universities in the world. In accordance with this strategic priority, Bogazici University pursues multi-disciplinary international collaborations in research and education at its six campuses with its 4 faculties, 32 academic departments, 2 schools and 30 research centers.

Center For Educational Initiative Association

Center for Educational Initiatives (CEI) is a non-governmental, non-profit association aimed at enhancing innovative educational initiatives and facilitating educational reforms in the Bulgarian educational system. The main objectives of the organization are to encourage co-operation in the field of education on local, regional and European level, to implement new teaching methods, mainly based on ICT, and to enhance co-operation between public institutions, educational and scientific organizations and NGOs at all levels via professional networks and platforms.

The expertise of CEI embraces the following spheres:

1. Training of teachers;
2. E-learning and e-teaching;
3. Promotion of innovative practices;
4. Informational campaigns;
5. Organization of conferences, seminars and workshops;
6. Organization of public discussions and debates;
7. Research and fieldwork.

In 2010, Center for Educational Initiatives established a Training center, whose main objective is to train teachers, school principals, university professors and education experts in e-learning skills and digital competencies. The Training center provides variety of methodological courses for ICT-based teaching, ICT-based assessment practices, etc. based on open educational resources as MOODLE. Over 4000 secondary school teachers from more than 150 schools in all the country were trained until now. More than 40 university professors have graduated special programs developed for the Faculty of Slavic Studies and Faculty of History of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

CEI has developed a Digital Skills Development Program for teachers with more than 10 qualification courses, including the creation of online learning content with virtual reality tools. The School Inspectorate of Iasi County

 

Iaşi County School Inspectorate is a public institution that provides professional guidance, coordinates and assesses schools and training centres in order to ensure high-quality education services, continual improvement, the effectiveness of the national / local education system and its compatibility with the European systems.

As a local representative of the Ministry of National Education, the County School Inspectorate of Iaşi implements the education policy of the Romanian Government, aiming to make the national education system compatible with the European Union provisions, as reflected in the organizational chart of the institution.

 

Advanced Technology Systems Srl


Advanced Technology Systems – ATS provides software solutions and services for education, public administrations and businesses. Its eGovernment solutions have been implemented by more than 80 public organizations, including ministries and county councils. The products developed by ATS are supported through the activities of its Research and Innovation Department, whose mission is to create new economic and social values. ATS has coordinates and participate as a technical manager in various national and European funded research projects, targeting technology-enhanced learning such as INCLUDEME – Inclusive Digital Environments to Enable High-Quality Education for Disadvantaged and Disabled Learners; DT4S – Design Thinking for Sustainability Education; VIE – Virtual presence in Higher Education Hybrid Learning Delivery; BEACONING – Breaking Educational Barriers with Contextualised, Pervasive and Gameful Learning; Games and Learning Alliance, etc. Its efforts have focused on the development of large-scale learning ecosystems, authoring tools, accessibility solutions, digital games, open repositories, etc. These solutions have been implemented in more than 15 countries. ATS is an active participant in national and international networks, such as BEACONING (Breaking Educational Barriers with Contextualised, Pervasive and Gameful Learning), ARIES (The Romanian Association for Electronic Industry and Software) – the largest IT association in South-Eastern Europe and the Romania Advanced Distributed Learning Partnership Lab.

INFODEF

INFODEF, Institute for the Promotion of Development and Training, is a private and independent research, development and innovation center whose mission is to design and carry out projects that contribute to achieving sustainable and inclusive development through education, culture and innovation. The center designs and develops innovative tools, methodologies, products and services that respond to current social and economic challenges and enable the anticipation and promotion of the changes necessary to achieve the future goals and objectives of society.

INFODEF supports the modernization of educational systems and pedagogical innovation in public and private educational institutions at national and European level. One of the main areas of expertise of INFODEF is the design of innovative methodologies and instruments to support the work of professionals involved with specific target groups, such as young people, migrants, low-skilled adults, people with disabilities, prisoners and other disadvantaged groups.
